Grants for Armenian regional independent media – €20,000 per applicant

The EU-funded European Media Facility in Armenia has launched a call for applications for grants for regional media organisations.

The project is offering financial support for five independent non-profit or media entities (online, TV, radio, print media), operating outside the capital for a minimum of two years from their day of registration. A maximum of €20,000 will be awarded to each successful applicant.

The selected organisations will also take part in a list of activities, including an E-School Programme, study tour to Europe, workshops and individual consultations on content production, editorial strategy, and management.

Eligible for funding are media productions, such as online and social media, radio, video or TV reports. Priority will be given to online media.

The awarded organisations will become part of a media network within Armenia as well as with Eastern Neighborhood and European partner countries and benefit from various joint activities. They will also benefit from audience research via VideoMetrics, and consultation about the research results to better understand audience needs and expectations.

The grants will be provided within the ‘European Media Facility in Armenia – Building Sustainable and Professional Media’, which is co-funded by the EU and aims to contribute to a vibrant Armenian media sector that can fulfil its role as a watchdog for Armenian society.

The project is implemented by a consortium led by DW Akademie, together with BBC MA, OSIAF (executed by OSF-Armenia) and two Armenian media organisations ‘Hetq’ and ‘Factor’.

The deadline for applications is 14 February 2022.
