EU and Germany provide Ukrainian small business with 50 grants of up to €10,000 each

The EU4Business programme, funded by the European Union and the German Government, will support 50 small enterprises with a new wave of grants.

Each grant is worth up to €10,000 (or equivalent of UAH 400,000) and will be allocated to companies affected by the full scale invasion and which are ready to develop business in the field of supply of essential goods.

The grants must be used within six months for preservation and creation of new jobs (payment of wages, no more than three employees); procurement of equipment and raw materials; rent for premises; equipment leasing (excluding personal vehicles); business relocation; consulting services (including marketing and brand development); and certification services.

The competition is open to legal entities of any organisational and legal form and form of ownership, with an appropriate main type of economic activity, with number of employees from 11 to 49 persons, with the owner exclusively a citizen of Ukraine, and annual income not exceeding €10 million from all types of activities. The company must also not operate in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and must not have subsidiaries in Russia, Belarus and other countries included in the EU sanctions list.

Companies engaged in the production of vital goods and services for Ukrainian citizens, as well as operating in the healthcare or architecture and engineering sectors, are given priority in the evaluation of grant applications.

“Grants will stimulate enterprises to continue economic activity, create jobs, and value chains, which will generate taxes for state and local budgets. This means that people in Ukraine will have prospects for a better life,” said Chloé Allio from the EU Delegation to Ukraine.

The deadline for applications is 25 August.
