The EU-funded House of Europe programme is partnering with Netflix and the Ukrainian Film Academy to support programmes for Ukrainian creators.

New initiatives will help Ukrainian creators locally and around the world who have been affected or displaced by the war, to continue and develop their work.

The two program,es will, between them, provide financial support and access to knowledge and experts for Ukrainian filmmakers at all levels of their careers. Eligible applicants can apply via the House of Europe and the Ukrainian Film Academy websites.

The deadline for applications to both programmes is 18 August.

The programme run by the Ukrainian Film Academy will provide:

  • 48 script development grants of $15,000 each for established two-person creative teams (scriptwriters and producers);
  • Exclusive online sessions with international industry experts.

The House of Europe led programme will provide:

  • A hundred stipends of €1,000 each for creators of all levels;
  • Education on filmmaking, post-production and pitching from Netflix for early to mid stage professionals.

The initiatives are supported by Netflix’s Fund for Creative Equity, a global fund launched in early 2021 which aims to establish more opportunities for people from underrepresented or marginalised communities to have their voices heard.
