Republic of Moldova Gender Equality Brief

UN Women’s Country Gender Equality Brief 2021 (CGEB) provides a snapshot of the status of gender equality and women’s empowerment in the Republic of Moldova, particularly as measured against the gender-related indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Framed under Agenda 2030 and the SDGs, the CGEB also attempts to summarize if and how women from underrepresented groups may be doubly challenged in the types of discrimination they face. The CGEB closes with a country-specific Matrix of Gender-related SDG Indicators for Moldova. The following areas are reflected in the Brief: gender dimensions of poverty, demographic overview, gender dimension in health, education, women in leadership, gender-based violence and gender dimensions of labour and economic empowerment.
