EU4Energy Babushka Challenge “Save Energy while Staying Home”


A social media challenge is being organised by the EU4Energy communications project. The theme of the challenge is energy efficiency at home. The challenge is running on our Facebook, Instagram and Vkontakte channels from 22nd May until 7th June 2020. 

ELIGIBILITY: The competition is open to citizens (individuals) from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine possessing a personal Facebook, Instagram or VKontakte account who are at least eighteen (18) years old. Employees, interns, or partners of the team members of EU4Energy communications project, as well as the immediate family and household members of those employees, are not eligible to enter.

PARTICIPATION: Users participate in the challenge by creating content (Insta/Facebook Story video or photo) showing energy efficient actions while staying home and mentioning EU Neighbours East project’s Facebook, Instagram and/or Vkontakte accounts. You can enter the competition by creating in your own language, English or Russian a video or photo/image. Creativity and humour are encouraged. Content must be shared from individual, personal accounts in public access. Business accounts will be automatically disqualified from entering the competition. Up to one video/photo is permitted per person. 

WINNERS SELECTION: After the close of submissions, a jury will select a short list of finalists to be put to a peer-to-peer vote by VoteMe.App, available on Android and iPhone. The entry with the most votes will receive the main prize with nine smaller prizes awarded to the runners up. 

PRIZE: A total of 10 prizes will be awarded to winners. The main prize is a gift voucher for €300 to spend at the store/shop of the winner’s choice. The other 9 prizes include a package including a solar charger, power bank, and other promotional materials. The prize may not be transferred and must be accepted as awarded. The winner may not request cash or a substitute prize. Do not contact the organiser about the status of competition. The organiser will notify the winners via the contact information provided by the participant after the announcement of the results of the competition. If a winner fails to communicate with the organiser within four working days of the announcement, a runner up will be selected.
