Metsola in Poland: more support to countries receiving Ukrainians fleeing war

April 4, 2022

On 3 April, President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, together with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, visited Otwock school in the region of Warsaw to meet Ukrainians having fled the war.

The school provides Ukrainians with a temporary place to rest, overnight accommodation and warm meals. The children are cared for and provided with the comfort they need.

Metsola  thanked Poland, the Prime Minister and the government, the local and regional authorities, as well as the numerous NGOs and volunteers who have ensured an exceptional effort in receiving and hosting Ukrainian families fleeing the war.

Poland has been carrying the largest weight of the consequences of the war outside Ukraine. Therefore, we need more support to Poland and other countries that are receiving and hosting people who are feeling the war in Ukraine,” said Metsola.

On Friday, Roberta Metsola visited Ukraine to personally express her support to the people of Ukraine and the authorities of the country.
