Georgian student wins EU4Energy Week EaP university competition


A student from Georgia has won the EU4Energy competition held last week as part of the the Autumn Digital EU4Energy Week for Eastern Partnership (EaP) Universities.

Master’s Degree student Guga Kupradze from Ilia State University wins the opportunity to attend a training in Brussels organised by the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER), paid for by the EU4Energy programme. The CEER offers a wide range of trainings, tailored to different levels of knowledge.

Second place went to Valeria Korcheva from the international law faculty of the Odesa Law Academy National University.

The Autumn Digital EU4Energy Week for Eastern Partnership (EaP) Universities was designed as a platform for knowledge and experience sharing among EU4Energy experts and students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, and included sessions on the EU’s electricity market model, ways of integrating renewable energy sources into power systems, the role of gas in the energy transition, and tariff setting models and methodologies.

The event was organised in the framework of the EU4Energy Programme Phase II –Promoting the Clean Energy Transition in the Eastern Partnership Countries, which aims to contribute to the development of sound legislative and regulatory frameworks for energy, to support the region’s transition to clean energy, and the liberalisation of its energy markets.
