EU creates European Alliance of Cities and Regions for the reconstruction of Ukraine

On 29 June, the European Alliance of Cities and Regions for the reconstruction of Ukraine was launched by the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and its partners, the EU and Ukrainian associations of local and regional authorities, to coordinate their joint efforts directed towards helping the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine.

This body will bring together cities and regions from the EU and Ukraine and their national representative associations.

The Alliance aims to coordinate joint efforts, with European Union cities and regions ready to deploy resources to support an effective and sustainable reconstruction of Ukraine, to facilitate cooperation within the ‘Ukraine reconstruction platform’ and provide expertise in capacity building, good governance, and technical assistance to cities and regions in Ukraine.
