YEAs from Azerbaijan and the EU: “EuroSchool 2022”

EuroSchool was organised between 2-4 August 2022 in Azerbaijan in collaboration with ‘EU NEIGHBOURS east’ programme and the ‘Young European Ambassadors’ initiative. The activities of the school aimed at organising several sessions in an interactive learning environment on the EU, its history, its fundamental principles and values, its institutions, the process of alignment and legislative harmonisation, EU negotiations, decision-making in the EU, the European Neighbourhood Policy, the Eastern Partnership initiative, the 2020 Deliverables, disinformation, and EU-Azerbaijan relations. A direct dialogue with the EU YEAs and YEAs trainers was arranged on issues relevant to young people (e.g.: what it means to live in the EU, what it means to be a young European, the EU and its role for youth in Europe and in the EaP countries, opportunities for young people across the region (including Erasmus+), as well as about national and regional youth organisations, how the network will function, which are the planned actions and how the interaction will be organised, and how to get involved.

As a result, 15 young people from different regions of Azerbaijan learned about the EU and its partnership with Azerbaijan, participants were informed about how to become a YEA and the upcoming YEAs intake, YEAs presented EU-funded opportunities for the EuroSchool participants etc.
