Young Roma Women Social Entrepreneurship (ROMANSE)

Descrierea

The “Young Roma Women Social Entrepreneurship – Romanse” project aims to strengthen the economic inclusion and empowerment of young Roma women in North Macedonia through social entrepreneurship, skills development, and community support. The initiative promotes self-employment and job creation opportunities while addressing barriers that Roma women face in accessing the labour market and participating in economic life.

The project focuses on improving the capacities, confidence, and employability of young Roma women by providing training, mentoring, networking opportunities, and tailored support in social entrepreneurship. Participants develop practical business, financial, digital, and communication skills that can help them establish or join social enterprises and improve their long-term economic prospects.

At the same time, the initiative strengthens civil society organisations working with Roma communities through capacity-building programmes and grant support for piloting innovative social entrepreneurship models. The project also promotes stronger cooperation among CSOs, public institutions, and existing social enterprises to create more inclusive local labour market opportunities for Roma women.

Awareness-raising activities targeting Roma communities and the wider public further support the project’s goals by promoting gender equality, reducing stereotypes, and increasing understanding of the benefits of social entrepreneurship and women’s participation in the formal economy.
