Youth-driven Organic Business Cluster in Baranivka amalgamated community

Project Description
The Action: “Youth-driven Organic Business Cluster in Baranivka amalgamated community” aims at:
1. The community socio-economic development through youth involvement. In this direction, a new labor training curriculum has been developed and implemented at “Baranivka Schools’ Resource Center”, where sewing, carpentry and 3D printer equipment as well as a greenhouse were purchased at EU expense. A business-oriented course for high school students “Entrepreneur is fun” has been launched. A dual education based on local businesses, including the partner of the project of PE "Galex Agro", has been started for Zhytomyr National Agro-ecological University students.
2. An appropriate model of sustainable economic growth development. For this purpose, the Local Economic Development Plan has been developed and approved on the basis of the Community Development Strategy. An annual Roadmap is being developed to control its implementation, which includes a summary plan of actions that are planned to be completed this year. A committee has been set up to meet quarterly to monitor the progress of the LED Plan and the Strategy.
3. Favorable conditions for enhancing the capacity of local authorities and businesses creating; and an organic business cluster developing. Communal Entity “Organic Community Development Agency” has been established, that creates conditions for the cooperatives, farms, organic producers development; attracts investments and grants, promotes cooperation between government and business. ASC Milka 2018 and ASC Smolka 2017 have already been launched and are developing their activities. Also, the number of organic producers has increased from 2 to 8 over the two years of the Action.
4. The infrastructure creation to facilitate sustainable economic development of the community. Trade and Training Center construction where the local food market will be located, and the Youth Business Incubator of OCDA will operate. A mini cheese diary construction that will process the milk from ASC Milka 2018 members, local residents and farms. Implementation of solid waste management system. An investment passport creation.
Specific Objective
1. Set up organic business cluster, open for investment, with upgraded hard and soft infrastructure of the community
2. Strengthen local authorities and businesses capacity / technical skills to plan and implement local economic development initiatives
3. Youth engagement in local economic development as a result of school and university curricula focus on entrepreneurship and organic production
Expected Results
1.1 renovation of hard infrastructure, construction of production facilities and Trade and Training Centre
1.2 Set up agricultural cooperatives
1.3 Greenfield plots prepared for investment location

2.1 Establishment of the "Organic Community Development Agency" with youth business incubator and consultant center

2.5 Local participatory budget grants for organic ideas

3.1 Improving quality of school and university education focused on the development of business competencies
