The “Civil Society and Youth for Inclusive and Sustainable Development through Circular Economy in North Macedonia” project supports the country’s transition toward a green and resource-efficient economy by strengthening the role of civil society organisations and empowering young people to actively participate in circular economy and waste reduction initiatives.

Implemented across all eight statistical regions of North Macedonia, the action addresses key environmental challenges related to waste management, low recycling rates, and limited public awareness of circular economy practices. The project strengthens the capacities of civil society organisations to design and implement innovative circular economy models in cooperation with public authorities and the private sector.

At the same time, the initiative promotes behavioural change among youth through practical learning activities in youth centres and vocational high schools. By integrating circular economy topics into vocational education and supporting youth-led environmental initiatives, the project encourages sustainable practices such as waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and upcycling. Through education, community engagement, and cross-sector cooperation, the action contributes to building a more sustainable and environmentally responsible society aligned with the European Green Deal.
