Salome Margvelashvili

  • Country of origin: Georgia
  • Occupation: Student
  • Current residence: Georgia, Tbilisi

Salome is currently studying for a Bachelor of International Relations, academically very interested in conflict studies and conflict transformation mechanisms. She believes young people hold most of the power in Georgia, which could play a huge role in developing democratic processes for a better future. Outside of her studies, she is trying her best to be an active citizen. For two years now she has been volunteering in two local NGOs and working with the children affected by the war of 2008 in Georgia. She is currently a representative of two international organisations in Georgia and is conducting different activities concerning SDG goals. Other than civil activism, she enjoys dedicating her free time to mountain climbing and plans to climb up to Mkinvartsveri (5050m above sea level) by the summer of 2020.
