Mariam is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations at Ilia State University. In 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 academic years, she studied at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania) and the Middle East Technical University (Turkey) within the framework of Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Programme. Mariam also served as the President and International Coordinator of the European Youth Parliament Georgia for the term 2019-2020 and now holds a position of the Volunteer Research Assistant in the Gender Team of the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support at the United Nations Development Programme. The main field of Mariam’s interest is security, in particular, the research of terrorism and counterterrorism and women’s involvement in peace processes.

This website is managed by the EU-funded Regional Communication Programme for the Eastern Neighbourhood ('EU NEIGHBOURS east’), which complements and supports the communication of the Delegations of the European Union in the Eastern partner countries, and works under the guidance of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, and the European External Action Service. EU NEIGHBOURS east is implemented by a B&S Europe-led consortium. It is part of the larger Neighbourhood Communication Programme (2020-2024) for the EU's Eastern and Southern Neighbourhood, which also includes 'EU NEIGHBOURS south’ project that runs the EU Neighbours portal.
