Maria holds a Bachelor degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the Armenian-Russian (Slavic) State University and has been actively engaged in volunteering and versatile social activities since 2017. In 2019, Maria attended the International Summer School at Humboldt University in Berlin as a DAAD Scholarship holder, and in 2020, she became a Young European Ambassador. In 2021 she joined the Erasmus Student Network in Armenia (ESN) Yerevan Candidate Section and became part of the Event Organising Team.

It is part of the larger Neighbourhood Communication Programme (2020-2024) for the EU's Eastern and Southern Neighbourhood, which also includes 'EU NEIGHBOURS south’ project that runs the EU Neighbours portal.
