Maral Kaplan holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in International Relations. She is currently enrolled in the specialized master’s degree programme in European Studies at the ULB.
She is also volunteering as an editor at Eyes on Europe and is involved as a Youth Ambassador with the NGO ONE which is fighting against extreme poverty and inequalities. As Maral is passionate about the EU and its external relations, she took part in MEUS 2021 (Model European Union Strasbourg), in a study visit to Washington D.C. focusing on EU-US relations, as well as in the summer school programme of HSE University Saint-Petersburg on EU-Russia relations. Moreover, for Maral, climate change is an important issue that needs to be tackled. She had the occasion to work on this topic within the framework of her internship at the Belgian Federal Parliament and during an Erasmus+ training course in Yerevan, Armenia.
This website is managed by the EU-funded Regional Communication Programme for the Eastern Neighbourhood ('EU NEIGHBOURS east’), which complements and supports the communication of the Delegations of the European Union in the Eastern partner countries, and works under the guidance of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, and the European External Action Service. EU NEIGHBOURS east is implemented by a B&S Europe-led consortium. It is part of the larger Neighbourhood Communication Programme (2020-2024) for the EU's Eastern and Southern Neighbourhood, which also includes 'EU NEIGHBOURS south’ project that runs the EU Neighbours portal.
