YEAs in the EU: Latvian Youth Festival KOPUMS

On August 12 and 13, in Jūrmala, in Dzintari Mežapark, the biggest event of the European Youth Year took place – the “Kopums” festival. The festival particularly aimed to bring together youth from remote regions of Latvia to provide them with opportunities on different NGOs, youth activities and leisure time opportunities. The festival included forums, discussions, fun activities and performances. The event was organized by The National Youth Council of Latvia (LJP), the Ministry of Education and Science, the Jūrmala State City Municipality and the Jūrmala Youth Initiative Center in the course of implementing the European Youth Year in cooperation with the representative office of the European Commission in Latvia, the association “European Movement in Latvia”.

As a result, around 80 young people increased their awareness of the EaP region, learned more about the ‘Young European Ambassadors’ initiative and the September YEA application call.
