YEAs in Georgia: YEAs in Svaneti #1: Movie screening with local youth organisation

The population in the mountainous regions of Georgia are characterised being most conservative and least informed about EU and EU & Georgia relationships. Reaching our soft centre is a priority for the EU NEIGHBOURS east programme, therefore YEAs in Georgia decided to visit the region of Svaneti on 15/07 and conduct activities, which enabled them to start dialogue with the local communities. Moreover, YEAs got to know local young people, empowered them and planned to potentially engage into the initiative.

As the result of the event, YEAs managed to engage in dialogue with the mountainous communities in the Svaneti region of Georgia on shared values with the EU and EU support to Georgia, raised awareness about the EU, its mountainous communities and support these communities get in terms of preservation of their language and culture and promoted EU-Georgia partnership among local population and young people in the remote region of Svaneti.
