YEAs in Georgia: “Together we achieve more!” Closing Event!

Young European Ambassador in Georgia, Temo Khojashvili developed the idea of uniting schools from Tbilisi to inform his peers about the EU-Georgian relations and common values. The concept included inviting school teams (completed by 6 students from 10-12 grades and one teacher) to organise creative and interactive activities in their schools on the topic of the EU-Georgia relations but also to compete and have fun through the healthy competition. The application form was created and shared in every large group for schools on Facebook. Despite the high number of applications, 10 schools were selected for the first, pilot project based on the quality of application form. Each school activity was attended and supervised by YEAs. Selected schools were invited to the introductory meeting on 16 April. 10 schools with approximately 80 participants attended the meeting. YEAs organised workshops on following topics such as the history of creation of the EU, the EU enlargement process, the EU institutions, the EU-Georgia relations (Association Agreement and DCFTA, Visa-free regime, EU’s support during the COVID pandemic) and common values, as well as youth opportunities funded by the EU.

As a result of this complex activity, 7000 students and teachers from 10 schools were informed about the European Union, our common values and the EU-Georgia relations, as well as this activity increased awareness EU values such as diversity, freedom, equality, democracy and informed audience about the EU-Georgia relations and the YEAs initiative.
