On 30 May 2022 in connection with the Month of Europe, one of the Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) in Georgia, Mariam Gvilava, organised a screening of the film ‘‘Europe and Me’’ in Martvili, Samegrelo. Up to 40 young people, among whom most were school children, attended the screening of the film. This was the first event held by YEAs in Martvili. The film sparked an interesting debate. A surprising connection between the film which featured a story about female Georgian football players and the audience was revealed when one of the attendees shared her experience of being a female football player.
In the second part of the event, young people met famous Georgian writer Dato Turashvili, who spoke about European ideas in Georgian literature.
