R3: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Climate Ambitions of the European Youth in Zhytomyr


On September 21-25, 2020, in partnership with the Euroclub “Networking”, the YEAs in Ukraine implemented a project “R3: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Climate Ambitions of the European Youth in Zhytomyr”. It included the following elements:
contest of photo and pictures for children on the environmental issues
video survey of local young people regarding their knowledge about climate change and local environmental policies
brainstorming “10 daily habits to improve the climate in Zhytomyr” with the students of the Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University (September 22, 2020)
“Climate collage” game with the students of the Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University (September 23, 2020)
offline presentation of the results of the project (September 24, 2020)

The outcomes of the project were:
Around 50 children participated in the contest of photo and pictures on the environmental issues
Around 50 people took part in the video survey regarding their knowledge about climate change and local environmental policies
25 student of the Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University attended the brainstorming “10 daily habits to improve the climate in Zhytomyr” (September 22, 2020)
30 students of the Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University participated in the “Climate collage” game (September 23, 2020)
15 people participated in the offline presentation of the results of the project (September 24, 2020)
YEAs conducted a meeting with the head of the Department of Philosophy and Politology of the van Franko Zhytomyr State University – Oksana Chaplinska
The project was supported by the representative of the local self-government – Iryna Yarmolenko, Member of Zhytomyr City Council
