CBC Black Sea Project Cleanup activity in Kutaisi

In the spirit of World Earth Day, Young European Ambassadors in Georgia together with 50 young people joined a clean-up action in the country’s city of Kutaisi on the occasion of World Earth Day. Young people and local activists divided and cleaned up several parts of the city, including the banks of the Rioni River by removing plastic litter.

As a result of their clean-up efforts, YEAs and local students collected 16 garbage bags of plastic waste from the banks of the Rioni River. The aim of the action was to raise awareness about the impact of plastic pollution on the nature and promote the EU-funded environmental project as a successful example of plastic separation and recycling.
