Slavutych authorities clearly understand that growing economy of Slavutych is main term for raising the living standards of Slavutych residents and solving the socio-economic problems. Only economic growth creates new jobs, reduces unemployment, develops science, education, healthcare, sports, social infrastructure and increases the welfare of citizens.
That’s why local authorities of Slavutych, one of the first, joined new of European Union Initiative «Mayors for Economic Growth» (M4EG), guaranteeing the fulfillment of obligations on active measures promoting the economic growth of Slavutych.
The project is implemented in the framework of European Union Initiative «Mayors for Economic Growth» (M4EG) during 2017 – 2021.
This project, which has been implemented in the territory of Slavutych region, united the local authorities, Slavutych community (25,000 residents) and surrounding communities of Chernihiv region (about 2,000 residents). Main focus of the project - sustainable economic development of Slavutych region, which support the mayors and municipalities in their formation as active intermediaries in economic growth and job creation, while developing the economic potential, technical and educational skills, and working in partnership with business environment and civil society.
While implementing the project, municipalities of Slavutych region became more transparent and friendly to business. The project has made a significant contribution to economic growth, improvement, and prosperity of municipal, business, and social environment in Slavutych region – by creating the new jobs within the effective implementation of local Economic Development Plan, which increaseв the economic development and welfare of Slavutych residents in twice.

1) Increase economic potential of Slavutych region by establishing an association of local community representatives and effective legal system to stimulate the development of small/medium businesses and protect their interests.
2) Improve business opportunities for Slavutych region by establishing a comprehensive infrastructure for business environment.
3) Improve investment climate of Slavutych region by arranging a dialogue with community, attracting foreign investments and extending the access to funding.

1. Union comprising representatives of territorial Slavutych communities and surrounding communities of Chernihiv region has been established.
2. Legal institutional mechanism aimed to improve the economic potential of territorial Slavutych communities and surrounding communities of Chernihiv region has been improved.
3. Service on legal protection of business entities has been established.
4. Information-consultation business service "Municipal One-stop-shop" has been established with use of modern electronic services.
5. Innovative industrial business park has been established for business entities (including start-up business, intellectual business, women, and youth) with introduction of cluster technology.
6. Comprehensive training/retraining and business education system has been established for staff of Chernobyl nuclear power plant, budgetary institutions, demobilized members of Anti-Terrorist Operation, and local residents (including youth and women).
7. Mechanism of dialogue between the local governments and communities (on social-economic development of Slavutych region) has been established.
8. Information portal (for attraction of foreign investments to Slavutych region) has been established.
9. Financial support system for innovations and start-up business in Slavutych region has been established.
