Support to enhancement of operational capabilities of the Port of Baku

Project Description
The Strategic Plan of the Port of Baku for 2020 – 2022 has defined a number of concrete strategic objectives, and respective strategic goals under each objective that will facilitate sustainable growth and prepare the Port of Baku for additional future cargo flows once the free trade zone takes off. Achieving these strategic goals will help to realize the strong potential of the Port of Baku to become a reliable link along important transport routes.
Another challenge for the PoB is a full automation of Human Resource Management System. Digitalising of HR services and processes (recruitment, training, adaptation, and performance evaluation) would allow improving both employee experience and
organisational success by transforming the HR function from paper-based, reactive and time-consuming to digital-first, mobile and optimized and proactive. Its goals include improving employee engagement and retention and measurably augmenting the success of an organisation by continually transforming in an agile way.
Specific Objective
The specific objective of this assignment is to assist the Port of Baku in bringing port operations, infrastructure and services to internationally recognized standards
Expected Results
- Guide and provide assistance to the PoB through port infrastructure international certification requirements;
- Assist the PoB in implementation of Digital HR System;
- Support to the PoB in development of integrated logistics management system particularly focusing on warehouse management;
- Strengthen the capacity of the PoB in port marine service operations;
- Support to the PoB in expanding the digital platform to connect the whole supply chain along the Middle Corridor;
- Assessment of the IT process landscape and technical system requirements for establishing a digitized automated information exchange between the PoB and its port community within Azerbaijan ;
- All required documents are prepared for ISO 14001:2015 re-certification (Environmental Management);
- Support to the PoB in achievement of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions goal.
