Technical Assistance for the Implementation of DCFTA Moldova

Project Description
The main objective of the project is to accompany the “Support to the Implementation of the DCFTA Process in Moldova Budget Support Sector Reform Contract (BS SRC)” which means to assist the Government of Moldova in promoting sustainable and inclusive growth and consolidating and improving democratic and economic governance.
Specific Objective
- To provide a wide range of capacity-building and institutional-strengthening TA services in the area of Quality Infrastructure, in particular, in the field of metrology, conformity assessment, testing and international cooperation in these areas including recognition.
- To provide a wide range of capacity-building and institutional-strengthening TA services in the area of Market surveillance, in particular, in the field of industrial and non-industrial products and services, especially, banking and non-banking sectors.
- To provide a wide range of capacity-building and institutional-strengthening TA services in the area of developing and diversifying Moldova’s internal and external market conditions and opportunities.
- To assist the Government of Moldova, especially the Ministry of Economy (MoE) and its subordinated agencies in designing and carrying out a wide range of public awareness programme promoting Competitiveness/DCFTA benefits through public events for citizens, civil society representatives and businesses.
Expected Results
- Improved institutional capacities at Central Public Administrations (CPAs) and implementing bodies/agencies to design and implement specific competitiveness enhancement measures within a DCFTA context.
- Improved cooperation between the relevant Moldovan-EC quality infrastructure and market surveillance services and bodies, at the forefront, with DG ENTR (Directorate C).
- Improvements of key competitiveness indicators/aspects within a DCFTA context, notably with respect to: a) Quality Infrastructure, b) Market Surveillance, c) the development and diversification of Moldovan internal and external market conditions and opportunities and d) the design and execution of extensive public awareness programmes that promote DCFTA benefits through public events targeting citizens, civil society representatives and businesses.
