DW Akademie: grants for Ukrainian media as part of EU-funded MediaFit programme


As part of the EU-funded MediaFit programme, Deutsche Welle Akademie invites Ukrainian regional media outlets to apply for a MediaFit grant. The objective is to help regional media to continue operating in spite of the war. 

The competition is open to all types of independent Ukrainian media, including radio, online and television. These media must have:

– ability to work in challenging security environment;

– more than 1 year of operational experience;

– a minimum of 4 full-time and freelance staff;

– a growing audience with at least 15,000 subscribers;

– regional and local focus, preferably in southern and eastern Ukraine.

The MediaFit grant includes financial support (on average €25,000) and potentially equipment, access to MediaFit crisis management experts and mentoring to develop a sustainability strategy.

Deadline for application is 26 April.
