Social entrepreneurship in Ukraine: economic and legal analysis

This legal and economic report produced by the EU4Youth project analyses the current socio-economic and legal status of social enterprises in Ukraine and possible legal alternatives to improve the ecosystem for social businesses and their relations with the state.

The report addresses four key aspects of social entrepreneurship in Ukraine:

1. Income generated by social enterprises and their proportion to GDP;

2. Employment opportunities within social enterprises;

3. The state benefits from social business;

4. Legal ways to harmonise relations between the state and social entrepreneurs without a special law ‘On social enterprises’.

The report (in Ukrainian and English) was prepared for the project ‘EU4Youth – Unlocking the potential of young social entrepreneurs in Moldova and Ukraine’ (EUnlocking project) with financial support from the European Union under its EU4Youth Programme.

The project helps to foster the social entrepreneurial potential of young people in Moldova and Ukraine by establishing a favourable ecosystem for social enterprises and supporting young social entrepreneurs to develop innovative solutions to the promotion of social inclusion and environmental sustainability.
