Funded Traineeship at the EU Delegation in Belarus


Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Belarus?

The EU Delegation in Belarus offers:

A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Cooperation Section of the EU Delegation to Belarus, starting in April 2021.

The Cooperation Section of the Delegation is in charge of developing analysis and recommendations for HQ related to :

  • Raising awareness about the European Union, its institutions and programs implemented in Belarus within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI);
  • Supporting the preparation and implementation of the technical assistance programs financed by the EU.

The intern will be fully embedded in the work of the section, receive direct exposure to the EU activities in the Republic of Belarus, and be provided with a unique occasion to understand from inside the work of an EU Delegation in a third country.

Main tasks:

  • Data gathering and analysis of existing research and policy papers on various topics (for example youth, gender issues etc.);
  • Participating in internal and external meetings/events and drafting reports;
  • Assisting the work of the Section as necessary, including with regard to outreach/visibility projects;
  • Assisting in the conception and implementation of information and communication products.

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Due to the very evolutive context of the COVID-19 breakthrough, applicants currently residing in Belarus will only be considered;
  • University degree in international relations, political science, law, sociology, economics, journalism or related field;
  • Excellent English language skills;
  • Good Russian language skills, knowledge of Belarusian language would be an asset;
  • Good analytical and drafting skills;
  • Proven interest for EU affairs and neighbourhood policies;
  • Knowledge of Republic of Belarus’ institutional system and political landscape would be an asset;
  • Capacity to work in a team with attention to details.
