EU4Youth: apply now for journalist and blogger competition in Ukraine


The EU4Youth EUnlocking project has announced a contest for journalists and bloggers in Ukraine.

Participate in the contest for journalists and bloggers, cover social entrepreneurship topics, introduce your heroes to the public and win a prize!

What can I enter?

  • Anything which is important enough to be shared with the public: you can submit an article, footage, blogpost, video or any multimedia content centred on the story of a person whose entrepreneurial ideas create positive differences for the environment and their communities, especially for the disadvantaged.
  • Each contestant can submit a maximum of 2 (two) of their own works.
  • Articles and blog posts of 1,700 words maximum or up to 10 minutes of video/audio.
  • Materials (entries) must be originally published/ broadcasted/ posted between February 19, 2021 and April 30, 2021.
  • Priority themes of 2021 are (1) women with social entrepreneurship, (2) workplaces for disadvantaged youth, (3) ecology and environmental sustainability, (4) mutual assistance of socially vulnerable groups, and (5) the development of united territorial communities.
  • Fill out a simple application and submit your material to the jury by 23:59, April 30, 2021 (Kyiv time).

Prizes

15 prizes including:

1st place – €1,000

Two 2nd place prizes – €500 each.

Two 3rd place prizes – €250 each.

Ten runner-up prizes – €50 each.

Who can apply?

Journalists, bloggers, and everyone who lives in Ukraine and publishes their work in any Ukrainian media, including television, online and print media, and blogs.

The EUnlocking project helps to foster the social entrepreneurial potential of young people in Moldova and Ukraine by establishing a favourable ecosystem for social enterprises, as well as by inspiring and supporting more young social entrepreneurs to develop and sustain their innovative solutions to the promotion of social inclusion and environmental sustainability across both countries. The project is funded by the European Union under its EU4Youth Programme.

The EUnlocking project is implemented by the Gustav Stresemann Institute e.V. (GSI) (Germany), Egalite International (Ukraine), AXA Management Consulting organisation (Moldova), ECO-RAZENI Association (Moldova), the National Assistance and Information Centre for NGOs in Moldova “CONTACT” (Moldova), and “Pro NGO! e.V” (Germany).
