Collaborate for Impact: new EU project supports development of social entrepreneurship in the Eastern Partnership

A new EU-funded project aims to contribute to the development of a more favourable social entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Eastern Partnership countries and Russia.

The €5 million ‘Collaborate for Impact’ project is implemented by the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA), the leading non-profit organisation in the field of venture philanthropy and social investment in Europe.

The project will raise awareness, promote social innovation and support exchanges with relevant stakeholders to increase the number of social investors, social entrepreneurs, and collaboration across the region.

Overall, more than 300 civil society organisations and social businesses are expected to be directly or indirectly involved in the project activities over the next five years.

The project includes two specific programme components focusing on Armenia, with a budget of 2 million. Activities in Armenia will focus on incubation of promising social business ideas and acceleration advice and support, as well as the creation of an Armenian Venture Philanthropy fund in order to boost social entrepreneurship across Armenia.

The first major activity in Armenia is the launch of a Call for Proposals within the EU-supported Covid-19 Relief fund for Social Enterprises in Armenia, to be announced shortly.
