Youth employment and entrepreneurship exhibition in Tbilisi

EU4Youth hosted an exhibition on youth employment and entrepreneurship at the Tbilisi Botanical Garden on 22 April.

The aim of the exhibition was to promote the sharing of experience and to raise awareness of successful practices among organisations working in the field of youth employment and entrepreneurship.

The event was organised by World Vision Georgia in cooperation with the Academy for Peace and Development (APD), as part of the EU-funded ‘Say Yes – Skills for Jobs’ project, and in partnership with the Network of Caucasus Environmental Organisations (CENN).

“One of the main challenges for the youth sector is access to information on various opportunities and activities. In order to conduct youth activities in a more coordinated manner, we are introducing an ‘exhibition of educational methods’ recognised in Europe. In this way, we hope to increase the effectiveness of youth activities,” said World Vision Director for Georgia, Ekaterine Gurgenadze.

The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, international organisations, educational institutions, the diplomatic corps and the private sector.

The fair was held in two stages, with a thematic exhibition and panel discussion on youth employment policy held on 22 April at the Tbilisi Botanical Garden, and online presentations of best practices through the Zoom platform on 23 April.

The EU4Youth project ‘Say Yes – Skills for Jobs’ aims to help young people acquire the skills needed for employment. One of the most important components of the project is the establishment of SKYE Youth Clubs, where young people aged 16-25 can develop competencies in leadership, social inclusion, entrepreneurship, and employment. Sixteen SKYE clubs have been established by the project in four regions of Georgia.
