Ukraine: training young people in the fight against corruption

A total of 76 Ukrainian students and cadets took part in an EU-funded training and brainstorming, exploring the problems of corruption and the tools available to prevent it.

Students of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, the Luhansk State University of Internal Affairs, the East Ukraine National University, the Luhansk National University and the Donetsk National University participated in the events which took place in Kamyanets-Podilskyi, Khmelnytskyi region, on 13-14 October 2022 and in Vinnytsia on 21 October 2022.

The students also studied the United Nations Convention against Corruption, which aims to promote and strengthen measures to prevent and combat corruption more effectively.

“We must continue to support educational programmes and information campaigns to form a culture of integrity with zero tolerance for corruption,” said Xavier Camus, acting Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Ukraine.

The events were organised by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine with the support of UNDP within the UN Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme, financed by the European Union.
