Ukraine: children’s sports school renovated with EIB funds in Luhansk Oblast

On 5 October, a newly renovated children’s and youth sports school in Rubizhne, Luhansk Oblast, officially opened after undergoing an infrastructure restoration project.

The school was renovated thanks to long-term low-interest loans provided under the Ukraine Early Recovery Programme, funded by the European Investment Bank. The EIB has disbursed almost UAH 7.4 million (about €232,000) for repair work, which included all internal engineering networks, repair of facades and all internal premises, as well as landscaping.

More than 600 young athletes, including from internally displaced families, will benefit from improved training conditions at the school across a range of 10 different sports.
