Telecom Armenia to receive US$20 million EBRD loan to expand its network in rural areas


A leading Armenian telecoms company – Telecom Armenia – is to receive a US$ 20 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to finance its growth, including network expansion in rural areas, and refinance existing debt.

Telecom Armenia is undertaking a seven-year network improvement programme to upgrade fixed and mobile networks around the country, including in rural areas.

Telecom Armenia is implementing a seven-year network improvement programme to upgrade fixed and mobile networks across the country, including in rural areas. 

The project supports the expansion of the 4G mobile network and the deployment of a modern fibre-optic network to homes in Armenia’s capital Yerevan, medium-sized cities and rural areas. This will improve digital connectivity and the competitiveness of businesses across Armenia and make the network greener and more energy efficient.
