StandUpForUkraine: Ursula von der Leyen and Volodymyr Zelensky to visit Kyiv this week

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU High Representative Josep Borrell will travel to the Ukrainian capital Kyiv  this week, European Commission chief spokesman Eric Mamer said on Twitter today.

The top EU officials will meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski in Kyiv.

The visit is planned ahead of the Stand Up for Ukraine donor’s conference in Warsaw on 9 April.

The event will conclude a broader social media campaign launched earlier by the European Commission and the Canadian government at the request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski to raise funding and other support for the needs of internally displaced people in Ukraine and refugees.
