Smart grant: EU-funded project helps NGOs in Rivne to work with displaced people

The EU-funded Ukrainian ‘3D Project: Development Despite Disruption. Resilient civil society at a time of COVID-19 and beyond’, has supported its partner organisation in Rivne in providing help to internally displaced persons.

Since the outbreak of the war, the Eastern Europe Foundation has reformatted its grant policy within the framework of the 3D project. For example, the civil society organisation OPORA/Rivne uses grant money to support local shelters.

The organisation has opened its own logistics centre in Rivne and assists people in many regions of Ukraine by supplying them with food, equipment, hygiene items, etc. The NGO also runs a medical centre: it collects certificates and medicines and sends them to those in need.

Before the war, OPORA had created a chatbot ‘RivneDataBot’ with the help of funding from the 3D project, and planned to promote a local e-consultation service for residents. A presentation of the educational series was planned for 24 February.
