Seven stories of seven years of armed conflict – travel along the frontline in eastern Ukraine and listen to people living there!

The EU-supported ACCESS project has published a special project – ‘7 stories of 7 years of armed conflict in eastern Ukraine’.

Since the beginning of Russian aggression against Ukraine in 2014, more than 3,300 civilians have been killed, more than 7,000 injured and over a million people uprooted from their homes.

“There are real people and stories behind these numbers. Let us take you to villages along the contact line to meet Valentina, Zinaida, Nadiia, Valentina, Nadiia and Ivan, Vira and Antonina who have been living on the last active frontline in Europe for almost eight years,” says the project description.

The publication is produced with financial support from the European Union, in the framework of the ACCESS project implemented by international and national organisations: People in Need, Médicos del Mundo, ACTED in partnership with IMPACT Initiatives, Right to Protection and HelpAge. The project provides multi-sectoral humanitarian assistance to conflict-affected populations of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions on the both sides of the contact line in eastern Ukraine.
