New coordination body for Sustainable Public Procurement in Ukraine

A new coordination body for Sustainable Public Procurement (SPP) has been set up in Ukraine with the support of the EU4Environment project, funded by the EU and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

It gathers the representatives of the key ministries (Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, and Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources) and international donor organisations that implement projects on SPP such as EU4Envrionment.

This new coordination body aims to coordinate activities on promoting and applying SPP in Ukraine. The first Interagency Coordination Meeting took place in November 2020, and the second meeting is planned for May 2021. Additionally, a green public procurement consultative group has been created to support the work of the coordination body. The consultative group consists of procurers, private sector, associations, and experts.
