Moldova: Team Europe visits Balti to meet students and hand over 11 trolleybuses

On 19 May, the EU Ambassador to Moldova Peter Michalko together with ambassadors of EU member states, as Team Europe, paid a visit to the city of Balti, Moldova, to participate in several events.

The ambassadors met with a representative of the local administration, civil society organisations and local media. They also took part in a session with students of the Alecu Russo Balti State University, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the EU Information Centre.

Following this event, the ambassadors handed over 11 new trolleybuses purchased with the support of the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) fund. The new environmentally friendly trolleybuses are more comfortable and improve the overall efficiency of the public transport network.

The ambassadors also visited the Dmitry Cantemir Lyceum and the Selecția public Research Institute for Field Crops. Both institutions have received assistance from the European Union and EU countries.
