On 2 November, the renovated ‘Iurie Boghiu’ Gymnasium in Flămânzeni in the Sângerei district of Moldova, opened its doors to 330 students and teachers.
Thanks to EU support, the gymnasium now has renovated classrooms, new sanitary blocks and a modern canteen. The building has also been insulated and equipped with 30 photovoltaic panels that will reduce annual energy consumption by 32% and annual CO2 emissions by 37%.
The total cost of construction works under the project is 21.7 million lei, of which 21.28 million lei is EU funding.
