Moldova: over 100 households providing social services to undergo energy efficiency improvements

More than one hundred households in Moldova providing professional parenting services and family-type children’s homes will undergo energy audits and then energy efficiency improvements under the EU-funded ‘Green House’ project. The total cost of the project is €500,000.

The energy audit will identify how to improve energy efficiency and use renewable energy sources. The works will include insulation of external walls, floors and roofs, replacement of external windows and doors, installation of solar panels and collectors for domestic hot water, electricity production, as well as installation of internal lighting and heating systems.

‘The Green House’ is part of the programme ‘Eliminating the consequences of the energy crisis in the Republic of Moldova’, with a total budget of €10 million. It is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with EU financial support and in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Moldova.
