On 19 November, the EU-funded project ‘Efficient public lighting in Calarasi – Firefly in the heart of forests’ presented its results in Calarasi, Moldova, at a special launch event for the new street lighting.
From now on, over 17,000 inhabitants of Calarasi town in Moldova have access to one of the most modern and efficient smart public lighting management systems in the Republic of Moldova.
With the installation of energy efficient technology, Calarasi town has modern lights infrastructure, including 25 kilometres of street lighting network, which ensures energy savings and reduced maintenance and operation costs. In addition, the local Museum of History and Ethnography became brighter following the architectural lighting of the building, and 20 pedestrian crossings are now illuminated according to European energy standards.
