Georgia: job seekers turn out in large numbers for EU4Youth online employment fair

Around 2,500 job seekers in Georgia attended an online Employment Fair from 1 to 5 March, organised as part of the EU4Youth – SAY YES Skills for Jobs project.

This was the first year the event was hold online, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, interest from businesses and jobs seekers remained high, and representatives of more than 50 leading companies presented information on 300 vacancies.

The purpose of the job fair was to allow organisations to meet potential employees through the Zoom platform. The event also gave job seekers the opportunity to learn more about potential employers and the opportunities available.

The job fair was organised by World Vision Georgia, in partnership with the National Employment Support Agency and HR Hub, as part of the EU4Youth – SAY YES Skills for Jobs project, which is funded by the European Union.

The project aims to contribute to jobs and self-employment among young women and men aged between 15 and 35 in Armenia and Georgia, particularly those with fewer opportunities and from vulnerable groups, by carrying out a series of activities focused on education and training, advocacy and youth work. It is implemented by World Vision.
