First impact investment fund for social enterprises launched in Armenia

On 14 December, the Via Fund, the first Impact Investment Fund for Social Enterprises in Armenia was launched in Yerevan.

The new fund was developed in the framework of the Collaborate for Impact project, implemented by the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA) in partnership with the Impact Hub Yerevan.

The ‘Via Fund’ aims to support social enterprises in achieving their goals and scaling their impact by bringing impact investment culture and experience to the local ecosystem in Armenia. The fund will identify, nurture and invest in social enterprises and other impact-led ventures to help them achieve their full potential.

“Social entrepreneurship is business with heart and social impact. In a sense it solves social problems through business approaches. I call the investors from the diaspora and Armenia to join this fund and to contribute to the development of this sector. Armenia deserves and needs it. You can count on the EU’s continued support,” said EU Ambassador to Armenia, Andrea Wiktorin, at the launch event.
