EU’s Solidarity for Health: new batch of medical equipment to treat patients with COVID-19 arrives in Moldova


On 10 March, a new batch of medical equipment for the treatment of patients with COVID-19 arrived in Chisinau, Moldova. The shipment includes 300 oxygen concentrators, 600 pulse oximeters and five ventilators, which were delivered by the European Union in cooperation with the World Health Organisation (WHO). Six hundred more pulse oximeters were shipped by the German government.

The support, worth a total amount of €685,000, provided by the EU, the German government and the WHO, will be delivered to hospitals. More than €3.2 million is planned under the EU ‘Solidarity for Health initiative’ for the purchase of equipment to help Moldova’s healthcare system to tackle the pandemic.
