EU4Youth brings together hundreds of social entrepreneurship partners from Moldova and Ukraine

Hundreds of partners from Moldova, Ukraine and the European Union have taken part in an online conference on social entrepreneurship and youth engagement hosted by the EU4Youth project.

The aim of the ‘Enterprising for Tomorrow’ conference, organised on 13 May by the EU4Youth project ‘Social Innovation Impact – A Strategic Partnership’, was to provide a dialogue platform for policymakers from Moldova, Ukraine, Romania and across the European Union, as well as international experts involved in the development of social entrepreneurship across the EU and in neighbouring countries.

The event brought together 28 speakers, who engaged in a virtual dialogue around social entrepreneurship, investments in positive impact and youth empowerment.

Participants also heard about several innovative tools that which will be launched by the project to support social enterprises.

Angela Achitei of the Fundatia “Alaturi de Voi” Romania, the project’s lead implementing partner, listed the upcoming initiatives:

  • “Accelerator of Social Enterprises” competition for the development of 8 social enterprises among young people from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine;
  • Development of the first Observatory of social enterprises in the Cross-Border Region Romania – Republic of Moldova – Ukraine;
  • Interactive map of social enterprises, which will be connected to the European map developed by the European Network of Social Integration Enterprises (ENSIE).

Social Innovation Impact – A Strategic Partnership is funded by the European Union under its EU4Youth programme. The project connects young entrepreneurs from Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, helping to develop their capacity, and to support the establishment of a favourable ecosystem for social entrepreneurship in Moldova, Ukraine and Romania.
