EU to provide grants to civil society organisations in Belarus


The EU has launched a call for proposals on ‘Solidarity with Civil Society in Belarus’. This competition aims to strengthen the resilience of the Belarusian people in civic engagement, increase the participation of CSOs in decision-making, support vulnerable groups and target climate change mitigation.

The specific objectives of this call are to increase the participation of CSOs in tackling climate change and mitigating its adverse effects, promote gender equality and women’s and girls’ empowerment, and strengthen the voice of youth within society.

The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €3 million.Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between €300,000 and €500,000. The maximum percentage of co-financing of the selected projects is 90%.

The deadline for proposals is 9 June.
