EU supports training in Ukraine to prevent and respond to online violence against children
More than 600 police and cyber police officers, as well as 300 educators, psychologists, and social educators in Eastern Ukraine will be trained to carry out quality prevention and respond to cases of violence against children online. This activity will take place thanks to an EU-funded project launched this January.
The three-year project, ‘Empowering Law Enforcement in overcoming online Violence against Children’, is implemented by a consortium of civil society organisations (‘Child Well-Being Fund Ukraine’, ‘Volonter’ centre and the NGO ‘Labour and Health Social Initiatives’). Its budget amounts to more than €400,000, provided by the EU.
After piloting activities in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Kharkiv oblasts, the project will share its experience and findings with law enforcement bodies and local authorities throughout Ukraine.
