EU and UNIDO launch project supporting Quality Infrastructure in Armenia

On 10 November, the EU and UNIDO, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, launched the ‘Support to Quality Infrastructure in Armenia’ project.

The project aims to strengthen the National Quality Infrastructure system and the National metrology system.

The project will support the National Body for Standards and Metrology (NBSM) in providing sustainable and internationally recognised metrology services, which will make goods produced in Armenia more competitive in foreign markets.

“The development of quality infrastructure (QI) will benefit not only the trade sector but also other sectors, including food safety and health and the environment,” says a press release by the EU Delegation to Armenia.

The launch ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Vahan Kerobyan, and the Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Andrea Wiktorin.
