EU and UNDP launch campaign to promote enrolment in vocational education and training in Azerbaijan

The European Union, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the State Agency on Vocational Education of Azerbaijan launched a public campaign to promote enrolment in vocational education and training.

Posters on different professions were placed in the city of Ganja. In Baku, the organisers used an innovative approach by using digital backpacks. Thanks to this mobile campaign, information about vocational education simultaneously reaches lots of people in different parts of the city.

It is planned for the campaign to continue during the admission period of students to vocational institutions, under the #JoinVET tag.

Applications will be open at a ‘portal.edu.az’ platform under the service ‘Electronic student admission to vocational education institutions’. Student admission for the 2022/2023 academic year will be available with 23,340 places on 127 specialties in 66 vocational schools. By enrolling in dual degree programmes, people can gain work experience in various private sector companies during their formal studies.

The campaign is organised as part of the EU-funded ‘VET for the Future’ project, that aims to support the modernisation of VET institutions in Azerbaijan.
